I received a letter in the mail claiming importance to file my "2020 Certificate of Good Standing". It gave an official document number and notice date. They congratulated me on opening my business and claimed. "A Pennsylvania Certificate of Good Standing is issued by the Secretary of State and my be required for loans, to renew business licenses, or for tax or other business purposes..." They also claimed to bear the official seal of the Pennsylvania Secretary of State. They requested a check for $87.25 to which I sent because it seemed legit.
