On Craigslist I emailed a woman named Iavina Brooke in response to a puppy. She said she had just moved out of the area and the aside from a 16 hour drive to get the dog she could ship it and she would set everything up with the transportation agency. The dog was free as long as I covered shipping cost. I was later contacted by phone and email by the shipping agency to verify delivery information and to set up payment of $300 for the transportation of the dog. After payment I received the flight itinerary and was expected to receive the dog the following morning. Come morning the dog had not arrived. I was emailed and contacted again by phone saying I needed to spend $815-1500 on a specific travel carrier for the dog and THEN it would be ready to be shipped. Every thing seemed to add up until that point and I realized it was all a scam.
