I used my credit card to pay for parking for my rental car in a lot on 12/11/23. The parking vendor did not submit the transaction until 12 days later on 12/23/23. My credit card paid the amount due on 12/25/23. In February of 2024, I received a vehicle notice violation from the rental car company for not paying for the parking for $90 plus $30 handling fee. When I reached out to the website listed on the ticket/violation - parkingpayments.com they informed me that I had to have my original receipt to dispute the charge because the dates don't match. It seems like they are purposely holding running transactions so they can charge the $90 fee which is much higher than the $12 parking fee that I paid originally. They have said they will waive the charge this time but it seems like this is a scam they run often.
