scammer contacted business to do painting for them. The business requires half of the money upfront before doing service. The scammer stated he had sent the business money via Venmo. The business had not received any money and told the scammer that. The scammer then sent 2 fake emails appearing to be from Venmo. 1 stating that scammer sent $400. The second email had instructions on how to send money back and a time frame of 1 hour or the owner would be arrested. The scammer had sent these emails to the business company email which was not linked to his venmo.
