Total money lost $400
Type of a scam Online Purchase
On August 16, 2020 I received a message back from a Pam McNair: https://www.facebook.com/pammcnair23 stating that she had a male labradoodle puppy that was 7 weeks old that would ready in 1 week.
I requested and received a video of a brown labradoodle puppy on August 16th. She stated that she lives in San Antonio, TX but the male puppy was currently at her mother's place 3 hours away on the north side of Houston.
I asked about the puppy's shot records and medical history and was told that the puppy's shot records would be current at the time of purchase.
She then replied back for me to let her know if I was interested so that she wouldn't sell the puppy to anyone else. I notified her that my family and I were interested.
She then informed me that I needed to provide her with a $450 deposit via Cash App.
Because this was my first contact with Pam McNair, I asked her that if we make this deposit via Cash App would we actually get the puppy. She replied, "back of course, what reason do I have to cheat you; I just recently had a baby." I then notified her that I had concerns because I didn't want to get scammed in which she replied, "she totally understood." I then informed her that my husband was still a little skeptical about this and asked if she could lower the initial deposit. She agreed to lower it to $400.
Pam McNair provided me with her phone number (936) 289-3024. I immediately texted her to verify that her phone number was real. At this time, I didn't give her my cellphone number, I texted her to say hello and gave her my name.
Via Facebook messenger I asked her if she received my text and asked if she could text me back via cellphone and she replied back with a Hello.
Payment of $400 was sent to Pam McNair via Cash App to an account name Cheyann $Mgkirst on August 16,2020 at 1:14pm and she confirmed receiving the payment via Facebook messenger. At this point she chose to meet at a local Valero Gas Station, 8303 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX at 12 noon on August 23, 2020.
I then asked her what would I need to prepare for the puppy pick-up and stated chew toys and that she would be providing us with some dog food. I then asked if I needed to bring a little cage and she stated that she would provide us with a cage.
On August 22, 2020 I contacted her via Facebook messenger and asked if the puppy was ready and she replied back to me with a yes.
On August 23, 2020 I arrived to the designated Valero Gas Station location, I tried to text her via Facebook messenger and discovered that she had blocked me on Facebook and I could no longer see her profile. I immediately texted her and called her but received no reply and the call went to voicemail. I called her a few more times and she then blocked my ability to call her. I then called her number from my daughter's phone, left another voice message, and she then blocked that number as well.
