I received an email from someone claiming to be part of the Central New Mexico Community College financial aid department stating I qualified for a pandemic pell grant. I followed the link included in the email and began to receive information from the hotmail email I listed above. They also text me from the phone number provided above. They wanted me to deposit a check for "grant money" and then transfer half the check to someone else. When I questioned the validity of the check, they told me to only contact them and that the check would go through. I checked with the company the "check" was from and they said they didn't authorize this.
