Type of a scam Employment
to my school email address calling for a virtual personal assistant. I thought it was legitimate at first. Below is what the email said:
Position: Personal Assistant/Part-Time (Work-Remotely)
Pay: 400.00 USD (Weekly)
Hours: 10 hours (Weekly Average)
I am currently looking for a Personal Assistant to provide personalized secretarial and administrative support in a well-organized and timely manner. You will work on a one-to-one basis on a variety of tasks related to manager’s working life and communication.
Ideally, I am looking for someone who has:
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
• Possess a high-level of professionalism and communicate in a formal manner (both verbally and written)
• Diary management skills
• Up to date with latest Google applications and calendar
• MS Office knowledge
• Well presented
Experience/Qualifications:
• MS Office and English proficiency
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Up to date with latest Google applications and calendar
• Ability to multitask and prioritize daily reminders
• Eligible to work in USA

I got the "job" right away and they gave me my first few tasks, which included cashing a check, keeping $400 for my first weeks pay and donating the $1540 to a charity that they would provide more detail on. I didn't cash the check or anything, but I have attached the check they sent.
