There were pictures of their presumed owner Sandra Schreiber showing dogs and winning ribbons. There were certificates with known AKC officials as presenters. There were customer testimonials. There were pictures of seven other puppies, pictures of the parent dogs. Pictures of satisfied customers with their new puppies. It was everything you would check on if you wanted to prove it was real or fraud and it passed the test.
So I started working with person on the other end of the email. I decided to keep moving forward. I sent the money, they set up the shipping and sent me the form dr transferring ownership, which I read thoroughly and signed before returning it. That’s when the other shoe fell. All of a sudden I got a phone from 702-518-4950 (which is apparently a Las Vegas phone. The caller said the payments wrong. HE, not Sandra, said I sent the money to wrong email. I used the name of website but, he said it had to be [email protected], not [email protected] and I needed to cancel the payment. Then, it was strongly suggested that use a friends and family method rather than business. Within about two hours I got another phone call that he informed me that they can see the money on hold and I should cancel it again sent to a phone that was in Oklahoma City. I did not do that.
At 7 a.m. the next morning (Dec 12), I get another call saying the puppy is at the shipper and I have only 10 minutes to forward the $1,600 for insurance that would be returned to me by the shipper. They even sent a video of an Amina’s crate being moved in a warehouse. I refused to pay that. I said I now realized they were scamming me and that I wanted my money returned or I would get the authorities involved. Hours of silence. I sent an email demanding a response. I got a reply that my failure to act promptly led to the shipper not taking the puppy and it would have to stay overnight at the shipper’s address.
I replied back, saying I will drive to the address from the transfer document and pick the dog up myself. I already knew at this point that address is fake. But, I was playing the long game now. They ghosted me. Now I’m sending emails to the address a demand notice every hour. I am embarrassed and ashamed for being gullible, but people need to know you truly cannot trust anyone.
