Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was provided an email '[email protected]' to send money to via money apps like Zelle. They provided a first name, but no last name (which was required for sending money). However, when I asked for a last name they told me to use the name they provided. I was in puppy mode and excited about getting a new dog, and sent the money. Seller was responsive via email, but the next day I received emails from '[email protected]' with information about the shipment process. The initial shipment was paid for but they were requesting additional "refundable" money for an air conditioned crate for the flight at an additional $850. They contacted me via phone (9086523194) and said to check my emails but before I could ask more questions, they hung up.
When I tried to ask the seller to contact me as I had many red flags, they did not provide a phone number or answer the questions I had asked. Many texts and emails back and forth later, they continued to push that I send money (I did not), the crate service said the puppy was currently at the airport, but when I requested a current picture, they sent one of the dog at the previous owners house. The crate service tried to say that I was committing animal neglect and that I be will be sued for letting the puppy sit. Long story, but worth the read because there are many other websites like this out there and do not want more people to have the same experience!!!!
