I have been applying to job so I thought I got an interview with a job in an email. I downloaded the app, “signal” to message the number, (310)953-4977. Which my interview was done through messages. I felt like I was talking to a computer. There was no personality but I just thought maybe it would show at the end when they said what they needed to say. I was sent “onboarding documents” from a different email than the person talking to me, [email protected], and sent over my information. I didn’t realize it was a scam until they were asking me even more questions and I noticed they were accidentally putting the wrong words or sending me the same information/message. My questions got ignored and they said they were going to EMAIL a check to “buy the needed equipment. Finally, I just told them I know they were a scam. That I was going to stop responding and not to send me anything. As of this morning, they still mailed me a check with a different amount than what they were trying to send me initially. It wasn’t even a tear tab check. It was one that already had been ripped out. I’ve already froze my credit and I’ve moved my money to a different bank account.
