They have someone hiding out waiting to see if anyone steps one foot outside of the lot then throw a boot on your car, despite the rights on https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/bacp/supp_info/private_booting_information...⇄ saying "A booting company must immediately remove a boot from any vehicle, at no charge, if the owner of vehicle returns prior to complete attachment of the boot." My 17 year old and his friend went to throw something away in the dumpster in the alley before getting the car and before they succeeded they caught him doing this. He still continued to put it on then demanded they pay him cash on the spot. I took a Lyft to meet them because of how sketchy this was. The signs say you can pay by credit card (which I had to do despite him not having a visible ID or being able to give me the Booting of Motor Vehicle” section of the Chicago Municipal Code which is supposed to be available upon request). He wouldn't take my payment without taking a picture of my credit card and drivers license then I had to literally chase him to demand my reciept.
