Received an invoice in November for pathology services from my dermatologist visit in June. My name was slightly misspelled. My Insurance company name was wrong. It said $500 was applied to my deductible when the service didn't even cost that much. It did have my doctor's name. This is the second time I have received the mailed invoice with the same information but now a different company asking for the money. The first time, my wife tried to pay online and it said it didn't go through. She called the number and they said we had actually been billed twice. Then they tried to get us to set up a link to our bank account so that they could refund the money. I almost fell for it until I received the Zelle confirmation number via text on my phone. If you call the number, you will get a fairly knowledgeable person on the other end who will even offer to take over your computer and guide you through the refund process. They will try to keep you off balance by saying that you mistyped the amount and added $2000 to the refund and they will get in trouble if you don't allow the connection to your bank account.
