Scammer's address Unknown
Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare
The first 5 or 6 times my mother hung up, then attempted to remove our number from the list by pressing 9, then when it we determined it was same company calling us multiple times a day, I decided to hit 1 to speak to an agent as it is becoming a real annoyance.
When the agent came on the phone, she read her speech (above) and then said, what issue are you having. I explained since she called me, she must have the information. She said she had to confirm it was my mother by asking for Medicare number. I said, this is her daughter, I am POA for her and am trying to help her. The woman was very insistent that the doctor wants us to have the brace for the "unknown" pain that they received a report on. Knowing immediately that this is a scam, I tried to play along to get more information: "I said are you actually calling from Medicare? She said "No, they are a representative that works with them." I asked for her company name, took 3 direct questions before she answered "Patient Help." I said, "oh ok that sounds familiar, let me call her doctor and confirm that it is something she is recommending for my mother. Give me a number that I can call you back" Instead of giving me a number, she said, "well what number came up on your phone?" I said "Anonymous" "oh... ok, wait a minute 1-888-224-0915"
Needless to say, the number is a fake, just goes to a fast busy. Very coy about giving information out so hard to track them down. Total scam - remember NEVER give your medicare number, social security number, birth date or bank information to ANYONE!!!
