Type of a scam Online Purchase
I came across a website that had the necklace, which is discontinued and very difficult to find, and I purchased two of them. The total for the two together came to 74.82. I made my purchase and noticed that I was double-charged on November 24th and November 25th for the same exact amount. This should have been my first red flag, but I figured that perhaps it was an honest mistake.
I had seen from the website that they were somewhere in Texas, so I figured that it shouldn't take too long for the item to get to me. Within 2 months I realized that there was no way that item was coming, and when I went back online to try to find the website, I could no longer locate it.
I then went through paypal, and only had luck today finally getting a hold of somebody who was able to get any information about this seller. The only contact that we have been able to get has been the email address ([email protected]). The PayPal representatives were very apologetic for not having more identifiable information than this.
This scammer's dishonesty has not only cost me time and money for products that I still want and have not received, but because of their deception, they had double charged my account which caused me to overdraft! Given that they were intentionally charging me twice and had no intention of reversing that charge, it is because of them that I was charged an overdraft, and if possible, not only what I like them to either refund me for the money that they stole from me, but they should also have to cover that expense as well.
I either want them to send me my necklaces or to give me my money back and to cover the cost of the overdraft if possible because the overdraft only happened because of their overcharging. (I do treasury and understand budgeting well enough to know a scam.)
Of course because they had my shipping address, they also have my identifiable information, which I have a problem with.
