A man named Robert Lovell from "Pave Co" showed up saying he had some leftover 3/8" rock with a stabilizer from some road work nearby and were looking for a homeowner who could use it for $1/ sq ft. When I signed the makeshift contract with another name named Steven Templeton, it had "A Plus Asphalt Paving" at the top with a different phone number on it. At this point, I didn't feel great about the whole thing, but my husband and neighbor both made me feel better about proceeding. Anyway, they finished a portion and when asked how much it would be for the completed work at this point he said it was about $1500 so far and he probably had enough to go a little further if we wanted. When he came to show me the almost completed work, he said it would be a total of $12,000! I was obviously shocked and said that was NOT what was agreed. He said he would work with me and asked if $6,000 would be ok. We finally agreed on $2,500 and they were asked to leave my property immediately.
