I thought everything was legit and tried to make an online payment via Western Union. They called back several times trying to get the payment through. I called Western Union about 3 times and they said the payment went through and the receiver needed to show up at a Western Union location with government issued ID to pick up the payment. They kept calling back saying the payment was on hold and they couldn't release and transport the pet until I got Western Union to release the hold. Each time I called Western Union, they said the problem was on the receiver side. After some frustrating phone calls trying to get them to contact Western Union, I decided to do some more research. Both addresses didn't seem like valid addresses according to Google Earth, so I then cancelled my payment and requested a refund from Western Union, which was granted. I almost got burned by this scam, but am now better educated about this type of scam. Apparently, this type of pet sale is not uncommon.
