Type of a scam Tech Support
Once the victim calls, it morphs into a tech support scam where they connect to the victim's machine via Awesome Remote and convince them that their 'ip' isn't secure and that they need to buy security software for their network via the netstat command. They also installed subsequent remote software that install as services that just uninstalling the program would not prevent access as well as other remote programs such as Anydesk.
After connection - wireshark tracking resolved to Rohtak in Haryana in India and another from Kolkata.
Payment was requested via personal check sent to the address of this business sent overnight via UPS or FedEx
