Got a notice supposedly from PayPal for purchase of bitcoin that I did not make.

I know this is fraud because I closed my paypal account years ago.

The email I got has been forwarded to PayPal abuse site . I am also reporting this to the FTC and The FBI both via their website and snail mail.

Received notice of wildly inflated charge on my PayPal account which I closed at least 7 years ago & then the debit would be made to my checking account. There was a # to dial if it seemed fraudulant & a foreign voice answered & asked me to type in letters which I did & then when I said: I was going to call my bank, we were immediately disconnected.

He had a different email trying to hack my pay pal account. Had the last 4 of my ssn. He knew my address and email. He claimed to be from PayPal. But the PayPal on the west coast is the only real pay pal. He wanted my debit card number. He said there were several charges linked to my account over $200.00.

He was triyng to scam me and get what's not his.

I received an email stating someone had used $411 on a transaction from my PayPal account. This was not me, I called the number below on the receipt to speak with someone. I spoke with a man. I explained my situation telling him the transaction was not mine. He went through many steps telling me to download an app to screen share so he could see the transactions. We found other people using my account and said they were getting a technical support team to track them down. As they did that, he told me we were doing “dummy transactions”. We went to cash app and made many transactions(total of $720) to see if the other scammers were online to see my purchases. These transactions were to bitcoin. I asked if my money was safe since it had been withdrawn from my bank account and he proceeded to say yes. The money had not been taken from my account it was “pending”. When I proceeded to tell him I did not want to finish the transaction and I wanted the money back on my card he started to yell and tell me my money was not gone and he did not understand why I wasn’t listening to him. The money has been taken off my card and I have my bank, cash app, and PayPal.

I used my personal credit card for the transaction but the sent me a receipt from PayPal the payment I made was not linked to PayPal in any way. The credit card statement even says PayPal with PayPal’s phone number but there is no record of the transaction at PayPal

I received an email stating that $329 was going to be taken off of my PayPal card and to cancel it within 24hrrs call this number. I called and no one answered but someone called me back from (208) 400-8538 and they had me Google my ip and give them the last 4 numbers. Then they had me connect them to my phone where they had me scroll through my phone when they asked me to open my cashapp app so that they could check to see if I had any unknown charges on there. I told them that I didn't have any but he kept insisting that I open it anyways, I explained to him that I didn't feel comfortable opening up my cashapp and he said that's the only way he could help me.

I received an email from what looked to be PayPal regarding an order for $615.55 for an item I did not recognize. I called the number for questions. A man with a foreign accent answered and told me I needed to be at my computer in order for him to help me. I said this is a scam and he hung up.
