- Tyler, TX, USA

I was contacted by phone by someone called Jack claiming to be from "PC Help". He made me an offer of lifetime tech support for my Windows PC for $374. I already had tech support with AT&T but this seemed like a much better deal so I took it and gave him my details, paid by card and they gave me a password. He accessed my computer remotely for over an hour for an initial check and didnt seem to do much. A few days later they called again and gave me the password to confirm it was them and accessed it again for the "cleaning". Once again they where in there for over an hour.

A few days after that they called again and said "the cleaning didn't take" and they would need to access my computer again. At this point I was starting to get suspicious and told them I had changed my mind and wanted to cancel and get a refund. They said that was fine and wanted my bank details to send the money. I told them I was not comfortable with that and wanted them to send me a check. They said they would clear that with their finance department and get it sent. That was more than 2 weeks ago.

I think I have been scammed.
