PC Tech Support, supposed Reports & Reviews (1)

- Germantown, WI, USA

A man named John Wilson called to say that he was from PC Tech Support. He had an English name but sounded foreign. He said that the server for Pc Tech in Wisconsin had crashed and they were no longer able to give tech support. Since we were only one year into our five year contract, they were going to provide a refund. He had me open the PC Tech support program so he could take control of the computer. Then he opened up a form that even had a BBB accredited heading on it, and needed me to fill it out. Then he wanted a debit, not credit, card number and the security code and expiration date. He wanted me to log into my bank account so when they refunded the money they could see I had received it. He then started processing a Western Union form(s). After someone else in the household starting seeing many forms with different names being filled out, they shut down the computer. My family member realized it was a scam, and we were able to shut down the debit card through the bank. The bank thought maybe PC Tech had had their servers hacked and that was how he was able to get our phone number. He never tried calling back after we shut off the computer even though he had called numerous times before and left messages on the answering machine.
