I am filing this on behalf of my elderly father who was scammed & harassed by these people in much the same fashion as has already been reported on this site. He was having pop ups coming up on his computer that indicated he needed virus protection. He responded to a pop up which represented the company as being either ****** or ******. A representative called him and again he thought they were with one of the aforementioned companies. He proceeded to sign up on 04/07/21 and pay $349 for service with the company and allowed them to access his computer. They said they had removed all the viruses and it seemed so for a short period of time. Before long he starts receiving multiple phone calls wanting to provide additional assistance. He told them he did not need additional assistance however they persisted....we just want to help. Then, just as on other complaints about them they tell him something is wrong and the additional virus cleansing did not work. They must access his computer again. While going through this second charade they indicated additional funds would be required since this was a tougher virus to eradicate. At that time he told them he wanted nothing to do with them and a refund. Of course they will give him a refund if he gives them his bank account number (while they are in his computer)! He says refund my credit card where I initially paid and they say they can't do that! Seriously, everyone in the world does that! At that point he told them to "go pound sand" and he was told they would shut down his computer....which they did! He contacted me (I live in another city) and I'm trying to assist. I advised him to go to the **** ***** in his city which of course cost him $ to clean the computer and install legitimate virus protection & to close his credit card and put alerts on all of his accounts. Even after all of this happened he received multiple calls from multiple numbers trying to talk to him. I convinced him not to talk to talk to them again.
