Received email message said I won a mercedes benz, need to call claims dept. 5168532289

- Leoma, TN, USA

They ask for $6500.00 wired to an account. I told them that I could not afford that. I recently lost my husband on March 19, 2023. I could not afford to lose money. They told me that they would get me a sponsor to send me the money and all I had to do was deposit it and wire the money from my account to the account of Alexcia Samuels, Bank of America, account #381065534379, Routing #026009593, 812 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ 07090. When I received the check, I took it straight to my banker, who said it was a scam. He would not cash it and he would not make a deposit on it either. The check came from Charles King on a new checking account, his address is 20604 Dawn Drive, Lago Vista, TX 78645, (no phone number listed), from Prosperity Bank, R****** *********** ******* * **********, for the amount of $6500.00. All three have kept in touch with me for about three weeks. They sent me a letter from a James Baker at [email protected], saying I was officially a sweepstakes winner from a raffle from PCH around 20 years ago. Today, I received a letter from Debra Holland at [email protected], notifying me that I won the first grand prize of $5.5 million and a brand new Mercedes Benz. Attached to the email was a copy of the check, people gathered around looking at (my) paperwork, and the car. They did have my cell phone number which I have blocked all numbers. The alias Alan Goldberg spoke to me earlier and told me that I was being ugly when I told him to give the prize to someone else if they wanted to and that I did not trust them. He was mad and told me that I was being ugly. However, I did send one last text message and deleted their numbers. It reads, "I wish to FORFEIT this Sweepstake Prize worth $5.5 million dollars and the new car. I do not want to receive further phone calls or email messages from either of you. I strongly believe this is a scam. No further contact, please. I will not answer your calls. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and whoever else will listen to me. NOW I AM BEING UGLY!" I hope this will help others not to fall for this. IT IS A SCAM. These people will clean out your bank account if they get ahold of your information. HANG UP when they call.

The caller stated that I won money from Publishers Clearinghouse. They provided me with badge info, a pin #. Said a Mr. Bob Foster would present my prize with the Prize Patrol. The person calling said his name was Dominick Williams, but he spoke with a strong foreign accent. He said I was the 3rd winner contacted today

Caller claimed I won $7,000,000 & a new car through Publisher Clearing House. I said it sounded like a scam & he immediately hung up.

These people call u and says that the call is recorded for security reasons and that they are tested by the better business bureau and that they are the prize patrol team from publishers clearing house and that I won money and all I have to do is give them my banking information and they will wire the money to your account.

Which I gave. Then, I decided to call my family member to speak directly. The person said they were in the hospital for cancer, had chemotherapy and was told not to use the phone. Mr. Mickey Clarkey contacted me and kept trying to communicate up until about 1am. Now, I am told I have until October 13th to respond for my wins.
