A David Moore from PCH called on my cell phone to tell me that I had won $4,500,000.00 in their December drawing. The prize also included $7,000.00 a month as long as I live, plus a 2024 Mercedes Benz car. I said this sounded like a scam, but he assured me that he was really part of PCH. He sent me an e-mail from a Bill Pryce ([email protected]) with 14 page document attached with letter of notification, letter from IRS telling me what I would need to do regarding taxes, letter from Better Business Bureau congratulating me, note regarding bank deposit of check (In order to avoid unnecessary delays and complications, please remember to quote your Activation number arising from your, CERTIFIED DEPOSIT SLIPS in respective of your Security), form for me to sign accepting prize, note from FDIC regarding insurance fees I may need to pay, link to federal government laws and resources, a picture of car I won, photo of check to be issued to me, and photos of previous winners. I was told I needed to go to a Walgreen's, CVS Pharmacy, or Dollar Direct store to buy two $500. Amazon gift cards. He stayed on my cell phone the entire time. When I got home, I was to take photos of cards and give him the activation codes on the back of the card. Since it was a Saturday and banks were closed, he said they would come on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. to present my check and see me to the bank for deposit. Said I could call him at 917-383-4971 if I needed to contact him. He called me back and said one of the Amazon gift cards for $500. was invalid and his "team" could not confirm that I had actually bought it, so he asked me to go and get another $500. card. When I went back to store to ask about exchanging the card for one that had a valid activation code, they said I would have to call Amazon, so he told me to see if I could buy another $500. card. I did, unfortunately, and he again asked me to send him a photo of the card. That's when I knew it was truly a big SCAM!!!!! It cost me almost $2000. !!!!!!!!
