I received a phone call saying I had won a Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes - $3,500,000 & Mercedes. The caller identified himself as John McCoy. He provided the following information: winning numbers - 02 04 26 08 Bonus ball 15; Package code - B114; Check service number - 093314571010US; and Prize director - Mrs. Mary Smith. I checked the caller's number. It was a cell phone - (876) 428-7402. I had told the caller at the onset that I would not provide any information or agree to any solicitation. After giving all the information, the caller then said there would be a registration fee of $1855.15 that I would need to provide to a US government agency as a registration fee, in the form of a Cashiers Check or money order. I asked for the government official and agency, and he continued with his spiel. I then told him I would be contacting the BBB, and he hung up.
