PCSUPPORT INC Reports & Reviews (1)

- Baton Rouge, LA, USA

I contacted this company due to having several issues with my computer. They initially charged me $300 for 24/7 PC support for a year, then an additional $400 for software that they said was needed because my computer had so many problems with it. I had reservations about what I was getting into but because I needed my computer for work and had the extra money to spend I went along with them. They did fix my problems so I thought that everything was going to be okay. Then a year later they sent me an email advising me that it was time to renew my subscription for $799.99. I called them to cancel the renewal and they told me that I would have to talk to the person that handles cancellations. When that person got on the phone he told me that they were going to give me a refund of $300 and that they needed to log on to my computer, then they said that they needed to log onto my bank account in order to process a refund, which I became very uncomfortable with. Then while they had control of my PC they put a password on my computer and told me what the password was. Next, they opened a DOS window and told me to enter $300 for the amount of the refund, I entered 300 but then all of a sudden it showed $3000. I told them that I didn't enter $3000, which they said it was my fault and that I needed to go to an Apple store to purchase gift cards for $2700. I told them that it wasn't possible because I am disabled and can't drive, they kept insisting that I needed to call a cab which I wouldn't do. Then they logged into my bank accounts and showed me that there was $3000 deposited into my account. I checked my account through my phone and found that there wasn't any money pending a deposit for $3000, but that they transferred $2000 from a couple of my other accounts which they denied doing and that what I was seeing on my phone wasn't accurate. They then wanted me to call my bank and tell them to approve the withdrawal of over $1000 but when I talk to my bank they never did deposit the $3000 they said they did. At this point, I knew they were trying to scam me which they denied, plus I shut them down from accessing my computer. But, after restarting my system I was locked out because of the password they provided didn't work. I called them back insisting that they give me access again to my computer which they again told me they would do that after finishing the cancellation process. I started screaming at them to give me control of my computer and when I demanded to speak with someone in charge they suddenly complied. I deleted all the software that gave them access to my computer, changed my online banking password but shortly afterword they sent me another email stating that they were going to renew my subscription with them. Well, I locked my credit cards and will be watching for any charges that they may try to stick me with. I hope that this post will be seen by anyone considering using this company and stay far away from them!
