I was approached via email about a personal assistant position, and the scammer informed me that they saw my application for a listing on Indeed. However, my application history on Indeed indicated otherwise, as I could not find the original listing they were referring to. They told me they would give me a sign on bonus of $400, along with a "weekly allowance of $1500". After about 3 weeks of waiting around for "tasks" they sent me a fraudulent check made out for $2,400 and instructed me to deposit the check into my account.

After about 2 weeks, the check finally released into my account and the scammer told me to send $1,000 to my Cashapp account balance to send to another person, claiming it to be an orphanage.
