I received a telephone call today, May 24, 2019 at 3:29pm from a representative who called me by my name and said she was calling from PEPCO electric company and a crew was in route to disconnect my service for non payment. I explained that payment was made earlier this week and asked was that not indicated in the system. She said, notices were sent and I said I did not receive anything in the mail and asked what can I do. She told me to contact a Manager by at (800)519-3714 x 2 and they should be able to help me with the disconnect order. They asked me to repeat the telephone number back to them and once I did that, the call ended. I dialed the (800) 519-3714 x 2 and asked for a Manager, only to be put on hold. After about 3 - 4 minutes, I thought it was strange that I had to call an 800# to reach a manager so I hung up before they had a chance to get payment information. I located my electric bill for PEPCO and held on hold until I was able to talk with a representative. Once she came on the line, I was able to confirm that my payment was made and the call was a scam therefore, I asked her to please make note of the incident. After the call concluded, I received another call from the (800) 519-3714 telephone number at 3:45pm but this time I did not answer the call.

I received a phone call from a gentleman claiming to be from Pepco. He said that I needed to pay my bill within 45 minutes or they would cut my service. He wouldn't even specify a set amount. He kept repeating the account number that I had to deposit money to. At the end I just hung up on him.
