I signed up for a free SA!PLE of face cream at only the cost of shipping, the cream came and i tried it and as it was too scented so I just threw it out....NO I did NOT ( nor could I ) read the fine print.

April 4th a box of cream arrived at my door, I opened it to find more cream with a slip of paper ( no price ) on it

I shipped the package back immediately ( signature required ) called the company to cancel, called my bank.

I have so many emails back and forth with Perlelux...someone with a different name every time.

They have taken two withdrawals from my account under both the names listed.

One email says they received cream in perfect condition the next email says they won’t return my money as the cream was opened..it was NOT !!

I was on the phone with my bank of 35 yrs.last night trying to have these charges stopped or cancel my card.,no sooner did I get off the phone ( after 10:pm ) I started getting emails saying they will freeze my accounts and take me to court, these emails are threatening and I have also be having phishing since this whole thing started.

I was asked, under the guise of one of my service providers to fill out a brief survey and choose a free product to try at the end as a reward for completing the survey. I chose the skin cream and they asked me only to pay shipping and handling. That is usually standard so I did. I then discovered a couple of weeks later a charge was added from Collagenea $189.98 and Perlelux $179.95 to the same credit card I used to pay the S&H.

I contacted the company and couldn’t get a hold of a person but managed to email the company explaining to them that I was offered a free sample trial as part of completing a survey. They replied saying that I had agreed to the terms of service that I had only 10 days to return this “free Trial” sample if I didn’t want to pay the full amount. I discovered that my father had been scammed by the exact same company two years ago for roughly the same amount of money. He was able to dispute this charge and his credit card bank billed the company back in that amount. I will be having my bank do the same through their disputes department.

With a bit of research I found that this company has a history of complaints detailing the same scam: https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/collagenea.com

The scam by Perlelux is to attach a pop up to an Email with a service provider company and request your permission to do a survey for which they offer a reward. The reward is a gift from their list for which you are only required to pay for shipping. A confirmation EMail is sent giving you a tracking number and a web link where you can get more information. Most would not check the web site as the product info is provided in a previous pop-up. However, if you do check the web site, you realize it is:

- a trial offer for 10 days

- if you keep the product beyond 10 days, the credit card will be billed $129

- you will continue to receive more product and be billed $129 every 30 days until you inform them otherwise.

I have contacted the company and made my opinion clear. In my opinion, it is a scam, verging on the legal. Illegality is avoided in an underhanded manner by providing a link to their website that is not critical to visit and by sneaking the word trial in a confirmation Email.

This organization charges the full price for two products during a test period when they say the customer can try the products and return for full refund if unacceptable. I returned the products unused and unopened and now the company has said they will only refund half of the purchase price because the products were not in their original condition (they said because I opened the larger shipping box containing the two products then they deemed them to not be in their original condition). I wanted them to send me a photo of what they received from me and they said they could not because they are hired by Perlelux only to provide customer service and the warehouse told them the products were opened and would be disposed of. This is definitely a scam and needs to be investigated and shut down by law enforcement.

I shipped the items back to the Perlelux warehouse via Canada Post on March 19, 2018 with tracking number ***

From a Facebook ad - they offer free samples of their skincare products where you only pay for the shipping.

Then 2 weeks later they charge you full price for their product claiming you didn't return it within the trial period. Total charges were CDN$189.98 for Collagenea and another CDN$179.95 for Perlelux. It does not say anywhere in the order process that you are to return the product. They would have to throw it out anyway after it was used. Makes no sense.

I have contacted my credit card company and submitted a dispute for the charge.

I have also emailed their support and they now say that by submitting my credit card details I voluntarily agreed to the terms and conditions. (which were not laid out clearly). And that they are not obliged to offer a refund, but as they understand my frustration, are willing to offer a partial refund of CDN$120. And that by accepting this offer, I pledge that I will not seek further compensation and that I will not dispute the charges with my bank.

Deceitful business practices. They know what they are doing is wrong.

I saw this skin care product that supposedly all the members of the t.v. show "Dragon's Den" had bought into. I thought it would be reliable so I clicked onto the website and proceeded to sign up for a free sample. There was an option to buy two other products - Hylauronic plus and Collagenea serum, which would cost $29.95 plus a $5.99 shipping and handling charge. When I received the box of product one was broken, which was replaced with the wrong product when I advised the company and sent photos of the broken container. I got my visa statement today and find I've been charged over $400.00 for these products from some company in Slovakia, even though the products are coming from Precision Total Fulfillment in Bolton Ontario. Both companies have a phone number but no one answers, you just get music, and both company websites look similar. I appreciate the advise given by the nice lady at the BBB to contact BBB Kitchener ON and the Ontario Consumer Protection Service. Wish me luck!
