Listed a boat for sale (but automobiles are more common) - person contacts you with interest in your boat or car for sale - they exchange a few emails asking general questions, showing interest in the item - then will ask you to run a report from "thevehiclerecords.com" which costs about $20. In reality the person has no interest in buying your item for sale, they just want you to buy the report. I assume the scam is that they get a small commission from having people run and pay for reports. I have received 5-6 similar emails in the 2 hours my boat has been listed for sale. Wonder if the website pays these people to attempt the scam.
