Scammer called "on a recorded line" and claimed to be Apria (which I do use), and went on to unnecessarily explain that they "provide my durable medical device." Which 1) if I have an account with Apria, I would already know who they are; 2) "durable medical device" is technically true, but it is too jargony for a real representative to actually say to a customer; and 3) if you're really with Apria, you should be able to specify what the device is that you provide me, and not just use some vague jargon. She sounded like she was from India or Pakistan, and made it sound like she was calling about a debt (which I know for a fact I don't owe one), and wanted me to "confirm my account information" before she would even tell me what the call was about. She didn't ask for my DOB, address, or anything specific. Just my account information. Red flag. I didn't have time to play her games, so I just hung up. If you owe something or they really need to reach you about something, they're going to send a letter first. I've never had them call me. I've received correspondence in the mail, but never a call.
