i recvd a call from a # that I didnt know from cincinati ohio, I let it go to vmail & immed checked msg via text script.... it said "hi there this call is to remind you that 50% discount offer on comcast/Xfinity acct expires today in iirder to avail the discount please call back at 833-631-6834.... The only reason i called back is because I'm moving apts in a few days & ive been meaning to call them to switch service to new address. when you call it sounds like a legit xfinity #. an asian guy answered & he verified my service address & last digits of xfinity acct # (which i dont know & i told him i dont have info in front of me - im just returning ur call about deal) & he then verified amount of my last payment made which was last wk. He then tells me that I can get 50% off of which would bring monthly bill to $66.80 per month & discount is good for the next 3 yrs. in the meantime I tell him im moving & want to switch service. 1st he tells me to call back to do & i said no- i want to do now & immediately said ok when do you want- I said on the 6th & he said - what time? which put my guard up because they usually say ok between 9-4 or give 1st avail datet 1 week or more...he then said- ok done! i said- please send me confirmation! he quickly changed subjects & asked me if i want to do deal which i can take to new place & then informed me that in order to get 50% off I'd have to pay 5 months up front & some kind of a $300 fee.... I said no thank you - at this point I knew it was a scam- his voice changed & he then demanded an answer to WHY NOT? i said im not paying any $ up front & he got angry & voice got more demanding & sarcastic & I told him I was reporting him as a scammer & he of course hung up on me. It sounds like a legit xfinity # when you call. it has automated xfninty audio voice system & all.
