I googled Con Edison customer service and clicked on the first result in google which showed this phone number 888-834-0997. I thought I was speaking with customer service representative so I verified myself. Then he asked me for my acc# I gave it to him. He put me on hold a few minutes later then he came back and told me that it’s suppose to be eleven digits not 7 like I have in my a/c. He told me to verify my address to where I was going to paid. The representative first asked for my last four and then he put me on hold. When he came back he then asked for my entire social security number. After that I verified my date of birth as well and he put me on hold again. At this point he then offered to call back in 30min and was never able to help pay my light bill. I then asked what kind of service was I getting and that’s when the representative hung up the phone. I never like using websites but I thought it was legit. I’m trying not to be scared but I am someone out there has my information and I don’t know what his

intentions are but his voice sounded foreign.
