We received this email below from Cheryl Sharp:

Thank you so much for your kind words of condolence and for the thoughtful way you’ve approached this. It brings me great comfort to know that my husband’s piano may soon find a home where it will be cherished and played as it was meant to be.

I deeply appreciate your offer regarding the tax credit, but I have decided not to pursue any financial benefit from this gift. My husband would have wanted the piano to be given freely, in the spirit of the music and joy it brought to our lives. I am truly grateful to you for accepting this instrument with such care and intention.

I’ve already contacted the moving company and instructed them to release the piano to you. All you need to do is reach out to them to arrange the moving process. Below is their information:

**Metrolite Logistic Freight**

Website: [https://www.metrolitelogisticfreight.com](https://www.metrolitelogisticfreight.... />
Emails: [email protected] / [email protected]

**Reference Code**: RS4022091 (Cheryl Sharp referral)

Please contact them by email for the quickest response, providing your address for a delivery quote, and schedule the delivery at your convenience. When the piano arrives, I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me some pictures or videos.

If there’s anything else you need, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to assist.

Thank you again for honoring my husband’s memory in such a meaningful way.

After this, I contacted the moving company and chose the 28-day shipping option for $750. We paid via invoice and have confirmation that the money was deposited to their bank account. After this, they denied receiving the money. Further, they requested that we pay an insurance fee. After questioning this, they did not respond to any further emails and did not answer calls. I reached back out to Cheryl Sharp and she has not responded either. I then googled the moving company and found that this exact experience happened to someone else with the same moving company.

We received an email forwarded to us from Meaford Hall (concert hall) in rural Ontairo saying that someone was looking for a home for their deceased husband's piano. It came from someone I knew who is affiliated with The Hall. I emailed the contact person and she said that the piano was actually in Alberta but connected us with the same moving company as she 'had used'. When I contacted them to get a quote they wanted me to do an e-transfer for payment but the email they provided was a gmail. The rest looked legit (the company had a website, the quote looked official etc). I didn't send them any money but I see how easily people could think it was legit.

Recieved email from a trusted source forwarding offer from Gina of a baby grand piano that belonged to her late husband. After emailing with Gina i learned that she was not in fact local to me and was moving in 2 weeks to France. She said the piano was stored in Little Rock Arkansas with this company and that i should email them to arrange shipping. She sent pictures of the piano, a Yamaha baby grand. An excerpt from her follow-up email: "I just sent the moving company a message and instructed them to release the piano to you. All you need to do now is to contact them and make an arrangement regarding the moving process. I would like you to take some pictures/videos when they arrive at your address.

Here is the mover's information,

Our nonprofit charitable organization in Michigan received an email purporting to be from a woman whose husband had died leaving behind his beautiful 3-year old Yamaha baby grand piano (retail about $12,000) and she wanted to donate it to someone who could appreciate it. Replaying to the email, the "woman" further stated she was moving to France in two weeks, having minor surgery in the next two days, but that the piano was in the custody of Metroleads Logistics in Little Rock, AR, and she provided a reference number to be used to claim the piano. Online research revealed at least two other ScamPulse.com scam reports that appeared to be virtually identical, so the company was never contacted. Their website is elaborate but appears to be AI generated. The Arkansas Secretary of State has no record of this company, nor does the common carrier division of the Arkansas Department of Transportation. Furthermore, the telephone number is listed as an unpublished number in Nashville, AR, over 100 miles from Little Rock.

Subject: Report of Scam: Metroleads Logistics and Freight

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally report an incident involving fraudulent activity perpetrated by the company Metroleads Logistics and Freight. The sequence of events unfolded as follows:

Initially, representatives of Metroleads Logistics and Freight reached out to the Film and TV department of Loyola Marymount University with an offer to donate a piano. Tiffany Gurney, the person who offered up the piano, kept in touch with the department and then had her information forwarded to the students. Subsequently, my girlfriend shared the information with me, and I commenced communication with the company via email.

Over a period of approximately three weeks, extensive correspondence took place between myself and the aforementioned company. After negotiations, a transaction was agreed upon, involving a payment of $1280. However, subsequent to remitting the funds, communication from Metroleads Logistics and Freight has ceased entirely.

This situation raises significant concerns regarding the legitimacy of the company's operations and the potential exploitation of individuals, including educational institutions. It is imperative that appropriate action be taken to investigate this matter and prevent further harm to others.

I am willing to provide any necessary documentation or information to support an investigation into this fraudulent activity. Furthermore, I urge the Better Business Bureau to take prompt and decisive action to address this issue and protect consumers from similar scams in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This is the email they sent me first. Hello,

My name is Eva. I'm a widow whose husband had a passion for music but never went pro. I have a Yamaha Grand Piano belonging to my late husband for adoption. I'm looking to give away my late husband's grand piano to a loving home, music teacher, music school or church. Let me know if you can connect me to anyone who would appreciate the instrument. I look forward to hearing from you.

I responded and they said

Greetings ******,

Thanks for the email. The Yamaha Grand Piano GB1K model used to be owned and played by my husband who passed away last year, the dimension is "161cm by 149cm" . It was last tuned sometime last year before he passed. She's about 2 years old and in an impeccable condition.

I'm moving my properties to South Carolina and I don't think my husband will be happy if I sell this piano, at the same time, I am settling for a home of lesser space, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument. I wasn't going to leave it alone in an empty house.

The Piano is currently in storage in Little Rock, Arkansas with the movers I employed to move my properties from my house. The movers can deliver anywhere. However, the beneficiary has to pay moving costs. In attachment are the pictures of the Piano, I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Eva Moore

We are a nonprofit and were initially messaged by another nonprofit that we work with about Janice Miller wanting to donate a baby grand paino but we'd have to pay for the shipping cost. She had us email [email protected] with a tracking number. We told her the quote of $620 was too much and she very quickly agreed to pay 1/2 the cost and sent it very very quickly. We then were asked to send payment by wire transfer, zelle, cash app, venmo, or paypal. We asked about wire transfer and were told it was suddenly unavailable. We said we could do paypal and then they said it had to be "friends and family." At this point, we were suspicious and started looking for evidence this was real. At the same time we offered to pay by check upon delivery and were told that wasn't an option. I started receiving emails from "Janice Miller" about how upset she was that this was taking so long as we should have already paid the moving company. The moving company had no ratings, no phone number to contact. Janice Miller also had no phone number to contact. Upon typing in her email address to google, I found the proof on this ScamPulse.com website that this is a scam and not the first time she has offered her "husbands piano."

In the initial email, Jessica Lynch said that she was looking for someone to take her late husband‘s grand piano. She did not want to take money for the piano. However, she would not cover the shipping so that would have to be arranged separately with the movers. The moving company was Metroleads, Logistics & Freight Forwarding.

“Jessica” then sent the confirmation code to arrange with the movers. When I contacted the movers, they required PayPal or Zelle as payment options. They would not produce an invoice until I gave them one of those two. I did not get any further in the process because I realized it was a scam.

Received an email in my work email, supposedly from another employee at my organization. It stated another employee of the organization is moving and looking to downsize, therefore wanting to give away a 2014 Yamaha Baby Grand Piano from her late father to a loving home. Emailed showing interest. Received a very quick response saying it was still available, that the movers currently have the piano, that we can contact the mover and that she would be contacting the mover also to let them know. "She" provided a name, email and reference number for the mover. Photos were included. We emailed the provided contact email, which responded very quickly, who also included a photo of a piano being stored without us specifically asking for a photo about 1 minute after the first quick response. The first response from ELTS Mover asked for first/last name, full address and phone number. There were multiple typos, punctuation errors and some broken english. Looking further online, the same scenario/complaint was found with the ScamPulse.com and I have not attempted to respond again. The emails used by the person and the mover were from the same email provider, but different email addresses.

Followed up on an email offering a piano to be gifted for cost of moving. I contacted the movers and made the first part of payment before things started feeling “off.” There was no phone number for contact for cancelling the transaction.

My son's boss told him about a lady that called his place of employment (he assumed his boss knew the lady personally) and said she was trying to give away her husband's piano because he had passed and she was moving back to France. She said she had stored it with Metrolite Logistic, and he could have it if he would pay to have it moved. She said her husband was very passionate about music and she wanted to give it to someone who shared those feelings. My son is a musician, and I offered to pay the shipping for him. I even checked out the website of the company and it looks legit, but I think the scammers have just cloned their name and address. I wired the money for the shipping and they advised that they would contact me when the piano had been shipped. I thought everything was good until they sent me a follow-up email saying that due to the cost of the instrument, I needed to purchase additional insurance before it could be shipped. I replied that I was on a fixed income and could not afford to pay $750 more for shipping insurance, and I would just have to rely on them to transport it safely. No response. That is when I knew they were scammers. I have the account and routing number where the money was wired from my bank. If you wish to contact me, or feel you can help, please contact me at 501-606-1291.

They claim they are giving away a piano for charity and then say it is stored with movers at metro lite logistic freight. The lady with the presumed name of Tiffany Gurney claims she is moving out of the country and that the piano is in storage and that they will love the piano for a fee. I am not 100% sure it is a scam, but feels like it. The moving company has a website, here is a copy of the email. Thanks for your email, I'm glad to hear that you're interested! The piano is currently stored with the movers in their storage facility. I don't have direct access to it, but I just sent the moving company a message and instructed them to release the piano to you. All you need to do now is to contact them and make an arrangement regarding the moving process. I would like you to take some pictures/videos when they arrive at your address.

The scam starts with an add in free stuff offered in the Pennysaver for a free Steinway Baby Grand Piano just contact [email protected]

When you follow up it becomes an obvious scam to get you to pay for shipping. A less suspecting person could easily fall for it but when you check out the company etc., everything begins to stink.

Scammer wrote this letter to our church to which we pay shipping and lose those costs.

to me

Good day

Yes I did send message about giving out my late husband's Piano.

The Yamaha Baby Grand Gc1 Piano is about 2 years old with a dimension of "151cm by 146cm". It is an impeccable condition. My Late husband Mr Paul Santos last tuned it mid last year before he fell sick that led to his death. The piano was so personal to us almost like a pet.

After his death I decided to leave Arkansas to New Jersey with my 4 years old daughter RAM to start a new living as a widow in a new country. I don't think my husband will be happy if I sell Piano. I wasn't going to leave it in an empty house so I decided to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument.

Please can you promise to take very good care of her for me? You know you wouldn't want your string instruments to end just anywhere. My conscience won't forgive me if the piano didn't end up well. Please ?????? make sure it's well taken very good care of.

The piano is in storage with a moving company in Arkansas where I kept it for safety.I will inform the movers about your interest in the piano. With your permission I can refer you to the moving company for a delivery Quotation. Find the attached the pictures of the piano. I look forward to your reply. God bless you??.
