The first message they sent:
"Hey! We have been reaching out to a few people who fit our style for a potential collaboration.? We don’t usually do this, but we want to offer you 50% off everything in our store, so that you can wear the latest timepieces. All we ask, is that you tag us in a picture of you wearing it and we may feature you on our page. Would this interest you?"
I said no, and they kept messaging me after:
"We will offer you a personal code for 25% OFF of our entire store. This is for YOUR followers and we will give you a 30% commission straight to your PayPal account for any purchases using that unique code! Also, this means you're not only gaining friends and followers, but you're also gaining income."
I didn't answer. So they sent this:
"What if we will offer you a personal code for 25% OFF of our entire store. This is for YOUR followers and we will give you a 30% commission straight to your PayPal account for any purchases using that unique code! Also, this means you're not only gaining friends and followers, but you're also gaining income."
So do I think it is a scam? I don't know... I mean they didn't seem to lie about their offer. People got the discount and were featured on their instagram page. Everyone seems mad because a) crap quality and b) they're not the big company they pretend to be. But I can think of many companies who do the same, cheap quality etc. Anyway, watch out and don't be a [censored] when they play your ego.
In the real life, I don't think this is happening that easy, and not even like this way (just commenting your post).
Subsequently, I google them, and they're nobody, not even a medium size brand. Few followers on their IG accounts. Such a scam!
"Hi Jason,
I hope this email finds you well.
We received a chargeback for your order number: #P-A-1003013618
I wanted to get in touch with you to understand what went wrong and how we can resolve this issue to ensure you're happy with your order.
Please can you advise what caused you to raise the chargeback and what the ideal resolution would be to your case so we can look at potential solutions as soon as possible.
As a small business chargebacks can be detrimental to our payment processor and don't necessarily work in favor of either the customer or merchant as the decision is made via the credit card company to side with one party or the other based on evidence of shipment.
Options we have available are a replacement shipment of your order if it has not been received/is faulty or in some circumstances we are able to issue a full refund if the chargeback case is closed.
Please kindly let us know your preferred resolution so we can ensure this is resolved in a timely manner prior to us reaching the deadline date with the credit card company to submit evidence of shipment.
Kind regards,
Chris
Pierre Arden Escalations
www.pierrearden.com"
The company is literally brand new, and relies on people believing that the watches are somehow quality-made in the UK (the company can't prove anything, there's no brand name on the watch to indicate that it's an actual brand, the material of the watch itself is of "high-end" cheap quality, and you can find the exact same models on Wish.com for a fraction of the price you pay for the "50% off" price with the scam company), so beware of any calls or messages threatening legal action or doing some kind of "escalation/resolve" action, because wow do they take quality scams to another level.
Take care, everyone, and let me know if anything comes up on your end for this.
They recruit you as a “brand ambassador” and offer you a discount code and also a free watch if you buy two.
Here’s the catch: the watches are not handcrafted in the UK, rather made in China that are worth $10-$15 off of wish.com. They are not gold plated, made if thick plastic, and straps are not made of genuine leather.
Watches purchased with the discount code are non refundable.
Two of the 3 (one was free) were damaged, too.
They also respond with a scripted automated reply to your request for a return and refund. (i sent two).
If it sounds like a scam, it probably is.
I’m going to go the paypal route like other dude said; hopefully they can resolve these scammers.
