Type of a scam Employment
The hiring process was a little strange. She was contacting me from different email addresses, but I just assumed as a small shop they had different emails. And also, I've been looking at some many different job opportunities, it was difficult to keep track.
She had an asian accent. I just assumed that she was new to this country and some of the weird things, like the way she made requests, were just part of being new.
I got concerned when she said that she was going to send me money to hire a content creation company. I know that's not standard practice. I'm assuming that she was going to send me money that I would then send onto someone else inside the US.
At one point, there was a Google Form that asked what sort of bank account I have, personal or business. That makes me think there was some money transfer involved.
As soon as I got the first assignment, I realized that this wasn't normal. I called Pippen Brothers and asked to speak to Jessie Duff. They said there was no one there by that name.
I emailed Jessie back and told her to not contact me again.
