PitBull Puppy Sale Reports & Reviews (2)

I was looking for a new puppy for my spouse, because we just had to put their baby down after a long battle with cancer and months of tears since then. After doing some searching online, I found an absolutely beautiful pit bull puppy that I would LOVE to buy for my spouse. I filled out the "Contact Us" form on the site pitbullpuppy.com and was in contact with the so-called breeder via email at [email protected] and then text at (706) 388-2755. I was supposedly speaking with a woman on text, but then her husband as well. I shared my story of heartbreak, and how much I wanted the puppy as a surprise for my military spouse, who was coming home, as well as my concern that they weren't a legit site. I was assured repeatedly that they were just looking to pair puppies with loving homes. So after much exchange, we agreed I would purchase the puppy for a total of $700 (originally posted for $800). I was provided a few pictures, which I know now were stolen from other sites, which is why no other requests for pictures were ever honored, despite many promises. He tried to get me to send $400 as a deposit via Zelle, but I declined that option, so he proposed Bit Coin. I wasn't comfortable, but really wanted that puppy and he convinced me he was a reputable/trustworthy religious man with a family and a love for puppies. I sent the money and then when he was supposedly at the airport, I received an email allegedly from the airline, saying they required a refundable insurance fee of $570. Because I was so excited about the puppy, the idea of insurance for the precious cargo seemed reasonable at the time, especially since I would get it right back. Once I sent that, I got another email from the airport saying the kennel that Mr. Gonzales brought the puppy in wasn't compliant. He swore up and down this was surprise to him. The airline said for the puppy to fly, I would need to buy a crate from them for $1200 or rent one for $700, which was refundable. I would not agree to send either amount, so he ultimately agreed to cover $400 if I covered the other $300, while reminding and reiterating how the insurance and crate rental were both refundable. At this point, I was emotionally invested, which is exactly what they count on. He agreed to provide me with his license: Egoberto Gonzales. 1915 Mineral Springs RD, Charlotte, NC 28262. DL#829737697210. DOB 11/9/1997. Exp 11/9/2024. So I sent the additional money, but was told the puppy missed her flight, so he would contact me in the morning with her flight details. Instead, he contacted me in the morning to say the "agency" that was going to courier the puppy had an overnight fee of $300, which needed to be paid to release the puppy. I asked for my money back. He said it would be 30 days for a refund, because he didn't have the money. He continued to insist this was all a surprise and a frustration to him, just the same as it was for me, but assured me there would be no more surprise fees and promised the puppy would fly out as soon as the fee was paid. He talked me into paying $100 towards the 'overnight' fee (after another day or two of conversation, insisting that he was an honest person and was offended at any implication otherwise...in my mind, he had my money and possibly a puppy that I had set my mind on). He then said she missed her flight again. Then he started asking me for nude pictures. I told him no. He contacted me the next day to say he would send the puppy under one condition - send him nudes. I again declined, so he said "your loss", and within hours he had turned off the phone. He turned it on a few days later, to contact me yesterday, to ask if I still wanted the puppy. I still have to report this to the police and FBI, but have already reported to the FTC and BBB. He was able to obtain my name and address. He used 2 different scan codes for the Bit Coin transfers, but I can only see 1 of the account numbers in full: 39EMCHPeZAgHPyNybfAabAuGVormGrW8X5 (the other is only shown as: bc1q...avcc). When he was promising the puppy would be shipped, he said it would be coming from the Dalton Municipal Airport. At the point it become painfully obvious this was a scam, I called the airport to confirm they didn't have a puppy in their possession and they didn't have commercial airlines go through that airport, but they did do animal transports occasionally; however, they had received many calls much like mine, from people who were also scammed and expecting a puppy.
I have seen the puppy I was "sold" on a number of other sites (the links below) as well as Facebook. I reached out to an alleged breeder on Facebook, who claimed that he actually has the puppy in his possession. He claimed to have gotten the puppy from a friend in TX, and shared his breeder license, name, and address. He said he had been talking with a Victor in VA (where Egoberto is originally from) and was also using a 706 area code number. He said he had provided Victor with his address after being provided a deposit of $300, but then Victor stopped responding to him. He offered to sell the puppy to me for $700 (same amount he had agreed with Victor), but once I explained how I was just scammed and therefore wouldn't be entering into another puppy shipping situation, he offered to send the dog for $150 and then I could send the rest once the puppy arrived (asking for Zelle or CoinFlip). He also gave the option of picking up the puppy, but I'm not in the area he said he was. He said the puppy was in fact a boy, and the pictures circulating were from when the puppy was younger. https://purebredpitbullhaven.com/ is another scam site. https://uniquepitbullspot.com/ looks exactly identical and has the same puppies, but at different costs.

Website looks legit and says all the right things but has no location. Says you can meet the dogs if you are nearby. Address is requested when inquiring about a puppy for sale, then they tell you they are located across country. Gave them an address from my husband’s phone near the city they told me, and suddenly they were located several states away. They sent us both pictures of the “parents,” same picture for one puppy in GA and one in MA. Told them we have family in MA who want to meet it. They said $500 deposit required and can’t give out breeder’s address without permission but never called back.
