planet express global delivery service Reports & Reviews (1)

I started talking to someone claiming to be Ryan Payton on a business networking app called Shapr. We chatted briefly and then he said he was going to England so we exchanged numbers and communicated via What's-app. He was in England to get a contact, he said he's an engineer and having secured the lucrative contract he was to be there for three weeks. We had been chatting for almost two months when he said he was coming back to the US and would come and see me. On Monday he claimed there was a problem pipes burst and he couldn't make the flight even though he was at the airport, but was sending me some gifts. I hadn't asked for anything so was surprised the list included a gold chain, earrings, a rolex, perfume etc. The package was supposed to arrive on Friday. On Friday morning I received an email saying the package was in Canada and they discovered it contained valuable items and so I needed to pay a local tax and extra shipping because of the value. They wanted me to send them $750 US. I told Mr. Payton I didn't have that kind of money. He said there was money in the package and so when I got the package I could get my money back. I told him that wasn't the problem I didn't have the money.

He said he didn't have any money because all his money was in the package because he thought he would be travelling with the package. I tried calling the number online for the company but no one answered it. I emailed them and asked to see the customs forms and for a break down of the fees but they didn't send it. When I told them my attorney wanted to talk to them, they threatened me and said they wouldn't talk to my attorney or any other third party. Then a number not listed on their site or in their communications called me. When I didn't answer on the voicemail he called me Maria as if we were friends. Which was interesting because in the email he had stated we were not family and that I need to pay them within 24hrs.

Then I got a letter threatening to keep the goods if I didn't pay them. followed by a text message from Mr. Payton saying that I must not loose the package as he needs it etc. in their final email they also told me not to call their UK office only Mr. Payton could do that as he was in England.

When I went on google earth the Canadian address for the company is an open field no buildings, there is no answer from the UK number and my friends couldn't find any information about the company. They have since suspended the account online so the tracking number now leads to a message to contact them. I have not heard from Mr Payton since Sunday.

It sounds like a scam to me and I hope no one else is taken in by these people.
