Got an email from my current college about an employment opportunity. Seemed legit because it was from a school email and so I filled out the survey/application for it through career builder. I kind of forgot about it until I got an email, from an iCloud email nonetheless, that I had been selected for the position. The email asked me to reconfirm my mailing address which I didn't do because I was sketched out. It also included an web address which I briefly looked at. A week or so later I got a text from a Colin Dufour saying that I had been approved for a survey and to wait for my package. I received the package about a week later and the package contained a check for 1,500 dollars and a sheet that contained my instructions and survey questions. The instructions were to deposit the check and then go to "your local Apple store in your city" and purchase a 1,200 dollar gift card from the store. Then I was to send a picture of the receipt and a picture of the gift card with the code scratched off (!!) I was completely sketched out by it and started doing my research and noticed that the address on the website was different than the address on the envelope and upon further research saw that there was no other mention of the company besides the website I was sent. I called the number that was listed on the paper and it said it was disconnected. Thank God I didn't deposit the check or anything.
