They asked for our address, names, phone numbers. They told us the FULL price of the kitten with delivery fee was going to be $650 and Nothing more. So, we paid the $650 for the kitten via Amex gift card because we couldn't use any of the cash transfer apps. Then I get an email from a "pet courier" saying the kitten needed to travel in a thermal crate for its own safety and that would cost me $1499, of which I would get $1450 refunded to me upon delivery of the kitten to my home. I refused to pay the money and contacted the "breeder" immediately about the problem. During all of this, i received multiple photos and a short video of Loki, the kitten I was supposed to get. I asked the person I was dealing with if they could pick up the kitten from the courier and just ship her directly from the airport. I was then told that transfer papers had already been filled out, and the kitten was mine, so they wouldn't be able to do that. And that I needed to travel from Idaho to North Carolina to collect the kitten myself. This kitten came with a 15-day money-back guarantee. But I doubt I will see any of my money back.

Pet scam
We went back and forth via email over the kitten I wanted (listed at $450) and then it would be an additional $200 for travel costs to get her here from North Carolina. They asked me to send it in a $500 payment and then a second payment for $150. I sent the $500 to Zelle contact Darrell Wells attached to phone number 803-250-8023. They later requested the remaining $150 to be sent to William Agyekum attached to email [email protected], I was starting to get nervous when I attempted that Zelle transfer, and it was denied and flagged as a scam.
I mentioned this to them, and they glossed over it and asked me to use CashApp instead. I said multiple times that I wasn’t comfortable doing that and this seemed weird, they gave me CashApp names to try $dre24b $Colemanjennifer1980 and $marsa028 which all felt highly suspicious but honestly, I really wanted a new kitty. I eventually caved and tried to send it, but that was denied and flagged as a scam, and that’s when I knew.
I kept asking questions they never answered, they kept asking for the $150 I refused to send, and then I called them out for being a scam. They said they’d refund me, but I knew that would never happen. I’m disabled and unable to work, $500 is a lot of money to me… I’m hoping to prevent this from happening to other people.
