I wanted to get a new puppy for my son, he had just lost his other dog to osteosarcoma in April and his dad had passed away unexpectedly last fall as well. I just wanted to bring a little joy into my child's life, as I imagine most people looking to bring a new dog into their life are looking to do. We found one online and began the process of purchasing the puppy. We paid the breeder $900, he stated it was shipped, then I received an email stating that he needed a specialized crate for shipping. The specialized crate was to cost $1100. I realized at this point it was a scam. My son was already in bed in sleeping. I had to tell him when he woke up that there was no dog coming. The scammer kept saying he would return my money, but never would, he continued to reply at the phone number when I inquired about a refund.
