Best Regards,
TTracy VanDenBeldt
Executive Vice President
Bremer Authentic Ingredients, Llc”. Believing it to be a genuine job offer, I replied stating that my working hours are flexible and the salary negotiable. They responded on March 31, 2023, by thanking me for applying (which there was no record of me doing on my LinkedIn account), they stated that this position would be 100% remote, then they listed the benefits of the position, and offered a Monday-Friday 9am-5pm 40 hour week schedule with a weekly pay of $1,300, also listed within the email was a list of the job duties and 9 interview questions: “1. Tell me about yourself and describe your relationship with your current or most recent manager.
2. When can you start if hired?
3. How do you manage needing to multitask?
4. What is your greatest strength, and how will it help your performance in this position.
5. How do you manage deadlines?
6. Tell Us why you feel you are the right person for this Job? How do you see yourself fitting in for this position?
7. Which financial institution do you bank with, so we can determine the payroll portal to put you on?
8. We like to think of ourselves as a team working towards the same goals. How do you feel about working in a team environment?
9. Do you have a computer / printer at home?” Still believing this to be a legitimate offer, I answered every question truthfully including the one asking about my Financial Institution. Then on April 3,2023 I received a response stating that they were offering me the job and I would be placed on a paid 2 week probation “ You would be placed on a paid 2-week probation in order for the management to access your work ethics, efficiency and salary increment consideration. You will be fully paid for the 2 weeks probation.
You will be enrolled for top-of-the-line training that includes online training, and new hire class orientation. Testing your efficiency for the new week is to be in charge of the purchase and delivery of the company's branded materials and equipment for your orientation and workstation. A payment in the form of a Certified Company Check would be issued to you by the company's financial manager to take care of the expenses.” In that same email they asked me to “fill the following information below to enlist into the Company's Register for proper documentation, it is also required by the HR Department.
Full Name, Address, Apt/Suite #, City, State, Zip Code, Cell number (For SMS)” they also stated that my “paperwork (USCIS Form I-9 and W-4 forms) will be sent to you via FedEx after the probation period.” Again I replied and filled out the information, still thinking it was a legitimate opportunity. Then I received a response asking to “Please advise how close you're to Staples or Office Deport?” I replied by giving the distance of the nearest Staples and its address. Later on that day I received another response where they asked “Can you get to Office Depot and purchase a Standard Check Refill (Business)? It's needed in order to print and deposit the certified pdf check which will be issued to you for your workstation and equipment. It cost about $26, send me a copy of the purchase receipt for records and reimbursement.” At this point, I have not replied as I realized the email address that I was corresponding with had been misspelled the whole time, which confirmed it was a scam.
