The scammer sent me a text with a job opportunity for a remote administrative assistant paying $50/hour for 20-30 hours a week. The text sent a link for me to apply. The application asked for my Social Security number and as a person who is out of work and looking for employment, I typed in my SS#. The scammer texted me again and asked if I had a bank that I used and, if so, what is the name of the bank I used. That's when the red flags started waving, so I asked for a phone call. Needless to say, I was not contacted by phone. I texted the scammer and told them I was reporting them to you and that my SS# should not be used under any circumstance.
