- Paw Paw, MI, USA

I received an email with a statement saying they had charged my account $279.99 for a year of Norton Antivirus. There was a number to call for a refund. I called the number. The individual did not say he was with Norton. He told me to go to my computer so he could cancel my subscription, saying that was the only way to do it. He told me i had to fill out a form to cancel. I told him i was reporting this to the ScamPulse.com and he begged me not to. After which he ended the call. I checked my bank account and nothing had been withdrawn.

Following an incident with a person claiming to work with Microsoft, I received seven calls from a person identifying himself as Mark Taylor from "the refund department of norton." He kept asking me to go to my computer and I told him that since I had no record of a transaction from my bank that I would need to investigate it further. I asked if he could have customer service call me and he said he could. I called the number back and it said that it was "a magic jack customer."
