Was told there was a bench warrant issued by Judge Emerson for failure to report for a Grand Jury Summons. He identified himself as Sgt Jackson with the Potter County Sheriffs Dept Warrant Division. The fine would be $5,000 or I could post a $500 bond and come down to set up my court date with Judge Emerson. I told him I never received anything in the mail. He assured me that it was probably a clerical error and it would be cleared up as soon as I got to court. In the meantime, my Drivers License was suspended and I needed to get someone to drive me to his office as soon as possible. On my way, I needed to go by either Walgreens or CVS and purchase a Green Dot Money Pack with $500 cash and bring it with me to speed up the process once I got downtown. I actually believed him and talked my husband into driving me to Walgreens. Thankfully the clerk at Walgreens looked me straight in the eye and said "Mam, this is a scam." She said that a Sheriff had paid them a visit and I was about the 4th person that had come in that morning with the same request. As soon as I told the man on the phone that I was just told this is a scam, he hung up on me. So incredibly thankful to the Walgreens employees!
