Received a phone call stating my power would be shut off within 45 minutes due to nonpayment. I saw on my online bank statement that it had been paid on August 5th. He tried to get me to pay the bill and it would be credited back after management verified payment.

I challenged him as I received no notification of nonpayment or notice of disconnection. He asserted one had been sent. After asking him how many times a month do I have to pay and that I show FPL deposited my check just a couple weeks earlier, he hung up.

I was skeptical that the power company would call me using a cell phone. I also complained that I couldn't understand him well due to the extreme amount of background noise of a boiler room.

I called FPL and found they acknowledged receiving my payment.
