Someone from HR Jennifer Colon ([email protected]) reached out to me via email about a job opportunity. The interview was done on Google Hangouts with a woman named Elina Nazarova ([email protected]). I was offered a job and was mailed a check in the amount of $3,999.00 via FEDX overnight delivery. Elina requested that I use those funds in order to purchase the equipment needed to do the job. I deposited the check with my bank, and the check cleared the next day. I was instructed to send a payment in the amount of $1,000.00 to James Maddock (937-972-3133) using the application Zelle. Using cash app, I was requested to send a payment in the amount of $2,000.00 but converting the money to bitcoin to the following address - bc1q06sup729gk4xgcz7mm0z97mjn2smfqxxhyygr4. After speaking with my bank, the check was drawn against a school district by the name of Grande Saline School District. When I later reached out to Elina to ask about this check, she claimed Powercode Inc is a partnering company for Grande Saline School District. My bank then later confirmed that it appears the check is different than the checks drawn from that school district. As of today, the check bounced and now my account is in the negative.
