I applied for a job via LinkedIn for what appeared to be a legitimate company. I received a text from the employer, which was the first red flag. Not a professional form of communication for a reputable company. The text read:
"Hi, This is Lorraine for Powers Insurance and Risk Management. You have applied for our xyz position on LinkedIn. Please send your resume to the hiring manager, David, at [email protected] to discuss your experience. Good luck"
Second red flag is the employer asking me to forward my resume to another employee in their company. No reputable company will do that.

Please beware of this phone number, should you get caught in a similar employment scam. Thankfully, I searched this phone number before responding to the text and I saw another scam report.
