Prel Group is a scam

I had Richard Kerwin reach out to me asking various questions about me wanting to hire me for a remote Executive Assistant job. I don't remember applying for a job for this company, however, I thought that I may have forgotten. He sent an email asking me various interview questions which I answered. One of the questions was who I bank with. I did not provide my bank account which is what they were hoping for. After getting a funny feeling about this experience, I went on-line to research. Seems like I had a similar experience as the other complaint did, except my experience did not go beyond email communications.

I got an email saying my application had be reviewed and I met the qualifications. They wanted to know how many hours I was looking for and my salary expectations. After my response they reached back out with more information about the job, including hours, weekly pay, and job description. They then asked me to answer 8 questions via email. After I responded to the questions I received another email saying I got the job. I was going to be on a two week trial period and they wanted me to go on and purchase items to set my workspace at home from their approved list of vendors (which they had not attached yet) and they would reimburse me later. I went to their website, which had little information. When I ran the name on one of the people that had write a testimonial nothing came up. I reverse image searched the pictures of both testimonials and it came back to websites that were not connected with these supposed people. LinkedIn said there was one person connected to the company’s profile. It did not show a name, but it did tell me the location. When I googled the name of the guy emailing me I found one guy in the same area as the LinkedIn profile. I called the number from the google search. He confirmed his name was the same as the guy emailing me, but someone had stolen his name and was using his name.

I received an email from Richard Kerwin about a personal assistance job from LinkedIn. The email said they reviewed my application and needed more detail. I went back on LinkedIn to find where I applied for this job at and could not find it at all and just thought they removed the listing since they found me. Richard then asked how many hours I could work and my salary expected. Then in the next email the job title changed to Data Entry Clerk and said thank you for taking the time to apply your application has been reviewed by our HR department and I had met the requirements. They asked 10 questions as a “interview” told me the hours and days I would need to work along with the weekly salary amount. Then the next email I got was a congratulations you’ve got the job please send me your full name, address, and phone number for text messages. I did that and shortly after I received a text message from Richard who poses to be the senior vice president of the Prel Group company asking me how far I was from my local Office Depot or Staples and that I needed to go right away to buy Standard Check Refill (business) that was $26 and I would be reimbursed for them later. After about 30 minutes go by he asked again how close I was to the staples. I then replied to him telling him I have investigated his company with my local law enforcement and he is trying to scam me and that I was reporting him to the ScamPulse.com and since then no reply from this man or company. Mind you they never called me it was all over email and text messages. They have great spelling and punctuation. I have called every number listed on the business web page and no one will answer and the recording hangs up on you. I’ve google searched the address and it takes you to a UPS store in Los Angeles California. This is definitely a scam!
