I received a text message this morning from cash Neon. The text message offered me a pre-approved loan for 3,000 to $12,000. I texted back and told him I was interested in the $3,000 loan. My payments would be $118 over a 30 months., to pay back. Also yesterday, I received an overnight Priority Mail envelope with a check for $1750. Nothing else in envelope but a check. No letter to explain y I rec'd check or instructions or phone #. the person who texted me has not mentioned anything about the check I received. D person texting me is from cash Neon. The check I received has two different addresses. The address on the check he's from Premier Food Service in Kansas and the priority mail package has a return address with a different name from Iowa. It's too coincidental that these are from two different scam artist at the exact same time. He called me and said he was from Auto Finance Midway then I told him I needed to speak with his supervisor to make sure he was legitimate. He then put an alleged co-worker on the phone. He said his name was Jack Johnson and had an obvious action. I asked him the name of the company and where it was located. He gave me a different name of the company then the other person I spoke with. One said the company name was auto loan match book and the other said the company name was Auto Finance midwell. He spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me trying to get my Social Security number from me. I was very nice and acted like I was going to give it to him but told him he needed to verify some things with me first. I told him that I filled out an application online and I already gave his company all that information. Plus the initial text said that I was totally pre-approved for this loan it was guaranteed. So I asked why he needed my social again when I already filled it out on the application. He started to get angry but stayed on the phone with me. Any other telemarketer or sales call would have hung up on me 1 minutes into the call these guys stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes plus. So I made up and gave them a random 4 digit number. He then told me he needed my entire social security number. I said to him... Your coworker only needed the last four digits of my social security number and why do you need my entire social security number? he got extremely upset with me but still did not hang up. So I gave him this number as my social... 123-456-7890. At that point he knew I was messing with him and hung the phone up on me. But there was a lot of noise in the background oh, it did sound like they were calling from a call center. But That just proves to me that it was a definite scam because he stayed on the phone so long trying to get my Social Security number. I was trying to get as much information out of them as possible so I can report it.
