Type of a scam Online Purchase
on 12/16/2020 I sent 2 payments via Zelle to the account information provided by the breeder (name on zelle account is devenhy ray) one for $500 and the 2nd for $450. This was to cover the cost of the puppy at $790 and cost of shipping $160 as I live in a different state then the breeder. I received confirmation of payment and that the animal would be shipped the next day and arrive within 24-72 hours.
on 12/17/2020 i received notification from Express Frigoli Logistics (also a scam) that the animal was being shipped that day via Delta Airlines.
I recieved a "copy" of the airline ticket and flight itinerary.
I then received a notice that the puppy was missing necessary vaccinations and I would need to pay $1100 for these vaccinations and a health certificate to be acquired prior to transport. These funds were to be reimbursed to me as it would be covered under the animal's insurance through the breeder. The $1100 was to be paid to the breeder and they would forward the funds to the shipping company.
I contacted the breeder as the animal was suppose to be up to date on all vaccinations and have a health certificate already and a health guarantee for 1 year. Breeder confirmed vaccinations were necessary and the money needed to be paid in order to transport.
$1100 was paid to breeder through zelle.
Then i was contact stating an additional $1600 would need to be paid to cover additional pet travel insurance to cover the travel from the airport to my house.
I contact the breeder, again, as this was very upsetting to me. these additional charges were not disclosed prior to purchase nor was the possibility of these charges disclosed to me. The breeder agreed to split this cost with me.
$800 was paid to breeder through zelle
i received confirmation that all funds were paid and a tracking number was provided for the animal.
I checked the tracking number and saw it stated next to the departure it said missed.
again i contacted the breeder to ask if that meant they missed their flight, the breeder confirmed this was the case and a new flight would be booked the next day 12/18/2020.
I received ZERO communication since the confirmation about the missed flight, nothing from the "breeder" or the shipping company.
I actually contacted Delta Airlines regarding the flight ticket information and they confirmed the ticket information was fraudulent.
